ALONG THE WAY
Along the way we have been proud sponsors of many great events and causes including: a partner in bringing a Congressional Resolution to the U.S. Capitol in September of 2002 honoring these Negro Leagues men, a contributor to several auctions in support of charity organizations including The Marty Lyons Foundation and PBS Television, an active participant with the Partners with Youth Sports Foundation teaching inner-city children fundamental baseball techniques and the importance of healthy decision making skills, and last but not least, a contributor to documentary filmmaker John Borst’s (Grandvue Production) film that recounts the story of Negro Leagues Baseball as remembered by the men that made this great history. The film also includes footage of our journey to tell their story and create the supporting memorabilia as well. The film is in the editing phase now; hoping to close it out with footage from a grand finale celebration in which we plan to bring together our surviving NLB Participants together at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.
